Wolf-Rüdiger Eisentraut

Our next BDA portrait is on Wolf-Rüdiger Eisentraut. On the initiative of architect Carola Schäfers, writer Erika Mühlthaler and filmmaker Fred Plassmann interviewed 17 Berlin architects and city planners from March 2011 until Januar 2017 as part of an extensive engagement with the 100 year old history of the BDA (Association of German Architects) Berlin.

Wolf-Rüdiger Eisentraut (1943) was born in Chemnitz and shaped the architecture of former East-Berlin as first and last president of the East-BDA. In the interview Eisentraut talks a lot about his experiences with the two different BDAs (East and West) and about the unification of the two BDAs after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
