M9 Museum

ein Kulturort für Mestre

Das nahe an Venedig gelegene Mestre ist so was wie das häßliche kleine Entchen mit seinen riesigen Industrieanlagen neben dem Touristenmagneten Venedig - das soll sich nach dem Willen der Stadtverwaltung Venedig nun ändern:
Mit M9 entsteht ein Kulturort im Zentrum von Mestre, der durch ein modernes Museum internationale Anerkennung finden soll. Dafür wurde ein Wettbewerb ausgeschrieben unter sechs Architekturbüros, die für ihre Erfahrung im Museumsbau bekannt sind:
Agence Pierre-Louis Faloci (Frankreich), Carmassi Studio di Architettura (Italien), David Chipperfield Architects (GB, Italien), Mansilla+Tuñón Arquitectos (Spanien), Souto Moura Arquitectos (Portugal) und Sauerbruch Hutton aus Berlin.

Die Ergebnisse des Wettbewerbs werden jetzt im Rahmen der Architekturbiennale bis Ende November vorgestellt: "M9 - A New Museum for a New City" - ein Grund mehr, nach Venedig zu fahren...

Agence Pierre-Louis Faloci (France), Carmassi Studio di Architettura (Italy), David Chipperfield Architects (Great Britain/Italy), Mansilla+Tuñón Arquitectos (Spain), Sauerbruch Hutton (Germany) and Souto Moura Arquitectos (Portugal) are the six architectural practices invited to enter an international competition for M9, a new cultural pole in the centre of Venice-Mestre, held by the Fondazione di Venezia which has conceived and sponsored this project and the future cultural space. The winning design and those by the other international firms that entered the design competition are being shown in the M9 - A New Museum for a New City exhibition, a fringe event of the 12th International Architecture Exhibition – Venice Biennale, and open to the public with free admission from 28 August to 21 November
