Jürgen Nottmeyer

The next BDA portrait is dedicated to Jürgen Nottmeyer. On the initiative of architect Carola Schäfers, writer Erika Mühlthaler and filmmaker Fred Plassmann interviewed 17 Berlin architects and city planners from March 2011 until Januar 2017 as part of an extensive engagement with the 100 year old history of the BDA (Association of German Architects) Berlin.

After an assistance at Hans Scharoun and Hans Poelzig, Jürgen Nottmeyer (1927) worked in the administration and engaged a lot in establishing the architecture competition structure in Berlin. In the interview he talks about the relation between the Berlin senate and the BDA in the post-war time and about the reconstruction of the building industry in Berlin.
