Peter Rich

Global conflict, political and ecological migration, overpopulation and explosive formation of slums. Until recently these subjects were not of any central importance – neither at schools of architecture nor in architectural offices. The exhibition at the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt / Main shows about 20 different positions and concepts that provide a new understanding of the social role of architecture. Peter Rich, an architect working in South Africa, talks about his experiences with traditional methods of construction and the transformation into an identity-enhancing architectural language.
